Unique, syntactic phenolic foam-based system, ContraFlame® JF120 provides a highly robust insulation medium with levels of fire protection certified by Lloyds Register. ContraFlame® JF120 is a truly passive fire protection and insulation system that is not relying on any chemical or physical changes on exposure to fire. Our management system accredited to ISO9001, which covers both the manufacturing and application processes, ensures compliance with the highest levels of industrial practice and project requirements and enables us to undertake complete 'supply and apply' contracts with single point responsibility anywhere in the world.
ContraFlame® JF120 is the result of more than ten years of continued development and application experience in a variety of service conditions in the oil, gas and LNG/LPG processes. A strong technical support team provides the capability to further extend the operating range of ContraFlame® systems to meet project specific needs and can often influence a project at the design stage.
Fully bonded all-phenolic, jet fire rated system with low smoke and toxicity levels providing passive fire protection, thermal insulation, corrosion protection, structural stability as well as impact and blast resistance. The ContraFlame® system design to provide Integrated solution providing both thermal insulation (0.05 Wm-¹K-¹) and passive fire protection to process equipment, risers, separators, flare stacks, process pipework operating at elevated temperatures (+185°C to -196°C). Additional applications include under decks insulation/protection, provision of thermal shock protection for structural steel e.g. LNG spills and for personnel protection.

A variation of the ContraFlame® JF120 system has been developed to meet stringent new industry standards for fire protection on risers. ContraFlame® JF120-200 limits the back face temperature rise in jet fire conditions to only 200°C in the critical wet-zone area between the sea surface and the facility's fire protection systems. The weight of the installed ContraFlame® JF120-200 system is as little as 50% of the weight of comparable systems and the material application can be carried out on site without supplementary curing or vulcanising procedures.
Pre-cast composite systems based on a unique phenolic syntactic foam and phenolic glass reinforced laminate. ContraFlame® is pre cast in custom-made engineered moulds to form removable, rigid and robust shells providing both thermal insulation and passive fire protection. The system main application includes processing pipe (for pipes 1” to 36”), flare stacks, valves and actuators, flanges. ContraFlame® Shells & Enclosures provide superior insulation properties (0.05 Wm-¹K-¹) while exhibiting a wide tolerance to elevated & low temperatures (+185°C to -196°C).
